โครงสร้าง, หลักการใช้ และตัวอย่าง passive voice modals กับประโยค passive ที่มี modal verb – บ่อยครั้งเรามีการใช้ passive voice ร่วมกับ modal verbs (กริยาช่วย) อย่างเช่น will, would, can, could, shall, should, must, เหล่านี้เป็นต้น เรามาดูโครงสร้าง, หลักการใช้ พร้อมกับตัวอย่างประโยค passive voice modals หรือ ประโยค passive ที่มี modal verb กันนะคะ

โครงสร้าง passive voice modals

The present  มีโครงสร้างเป็น modal verb + be + past participle (V3)
ใช้พูดถึงสิ่งต่างๆ ในปัจจุบัน หรือ อนาคต (present or future) ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

This recipe can be made with margarine instead of butter.
สูตรนี้สามารถใช้มาการีน(เนยเทียม)แทนเนยได้

The present perfect มีโครงสร้างเป็น modal verb + have been + past participle (V3)
ใช้พูดถึงสิ่งต่างๆ ในอดีต (past) ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

He’s very upset. He might have been fired from his job.
เขาเป็นทุกข์มาก เขาคงถูกให้ออกจากงาน (เป็นไปได้ว่าเขาถูกให้ออกจากงาน)

การใช้ passive voice modals และตัวอย่างประโยค

การใช้ passive voice modals กับ ความเป็นไปได้ (Possibility) ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

Margarine is a butter substitute made with vegetable oils. It can generally be used in place of butter.  (Present)
มาการีนเป็นสิ่งที่นำมาใช้แทนเนย ทำจากน้ำมันพืช โดยทั่วไปมันสามารถใช้แทนเนยได้

That was very dangerous. You could have been killed! (Past)
นั่นมันอันตรายมาก คุณสามารถถูกฆ่าได้เลยนะ!

การใช้ passive voice modals กับ ความเป็นไปไม่ได้ (Impossibility) ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

Crops can’t be grown here because the soil is too rocky. (Present)
พืชไม่สามารถเจริญงอกงามได้ที่นี่เพราะดินมันแข็งเกินไป

I got it done but it couldn’t have been done without the help of my colleague here. (Past)
มันเสร็จแล้วแต่มันคงไม่สามารถถูกทำให้เสร็จได้ถ้าไม่ได้รับความช่วยเหลือจากเพื่อนร่วมงานของฉันที่นี่

การใช้ passive voice modals กับ ความยินยอม, การอนุญาต (Permission) ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

Photos may be taken during the performance. (Positive)
อาจถ่ายภาพในระหว่างการแสดงก็ได้ (อนุญาตให้ภาพถูกถ่ายได้)

Smartphones may not be used during the exam. (Negative)
สมาร์ทโฟนไม่ได้รับอนุญาตให้ใช้ในระหว่างการสอบ

การใช้ passive voice modals กับ ความต้องการ (Requirement) ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

The report must be written before the deadline. (Positive)
รายงานจะต้องถูกเขียนให้เสร็จก่อนกำหนด (ต้องเขียนรายงานให้เสร็จก่อนถึงกำหนด)

These samples must not be exposed to contamination. (Negative)
ตัวอย่างเหล่านี้จะต้องไม่ถูกสัมผัสกับการปนเปื้อน

การใช้ passive voice modals กับ คำแนะนำ (Advice) ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

Something should be done about the problem. (Present)
Something ought to be done about the problem. (Present)
บางสิ่งบางอย่างควรถูกทำเพื่อแก้ปัญหา

Something should have been done about the problem a long time ago. (Past)
บางสิ่งบางอย่างควรถูกทำเพื่อแก้ปัญหามานานแล้ว

หมายเหตุ: สำหรับ the past เราไม่นิยมใช้ “ought to have been” แต่ใช้ “should have been” แทนนะคะ
