Rewrite the active sentences into passive.

1. Pranee has been writing the report since 7 a.m. this morning.
2. Did the servant polish Tom’s shoes?
3. The teacher gave me a book yesterday.
4. The mechanic repairs cars.
5. Will Pranee invite Somchai to her party?

6. No one likes this picture.
7. They are going to widen the bridge.
8. Do not break the glass.
9. By next year they’ll have been building that road for a year.
10. Did you tell them?

เฉลยแบบฝึกหัด

1. The report has been being written since 7 a.m. this morning by Pranee.
(Tense ของประโยคเป็น present perfect continuous จึงต้องใช้ passive voice ในรูป has been / have been + being +V3)

2. Were Tom’s shoes polished by the servant?
(Past simple ต้องใช้ passive voice ในรูป was/were + V3 และเป็นประโยคคำถามจึงขึ้นต้นประโยคด้วย Were …)

3. ประโยคนี้มีกรรม 2 ตัวคือ direct object (book) และ indirect object (me) จึงสามารถเปลี่ยนเป็น passive sentence ได้สองแบบคือ
I was given a book by the teacher yesterday.
หรือ A book was given to me by the teacher yesterday.
(Tense ของประโยคนี้เป็น past simple ต้องใช้ passive voice ในรูป was/were + V3)

4. Cars are repaired by the mechanic.
(Present simple ต้องใช้ passive voice ในรูป is/am/are + V3)

5. Will Somchai be invited by Pranee to her party?
(Future simple ต้องใช้ passive voice ในรูป will + be + V3

6. This picture isn’t liked.
(ประโยคนี้เราไม่ต้องบอกว่า “by no one” นะคะ เราจะละไว้เนื่องจากเข้าใจกันอยู่แล้ว – คำอื่นๆ ที่เราไม่นิยมเอาไปเป็นกรรมของ passive voice แต่จะละไว้ในฐานะที่เข้าใจกันอยู่แล้วเช่น Anybody, They, We, People, No one, Someone, Somebody, Anyone, เป็นต้น)

7. The bridge is going to be widened.
(“going to” future ใช้ passive voice ในรูป is/am/are + going to + be + V3)

8. Let the glass not be broken.
Active Sentence ที่เป็นคำสั่ง เปลี่ยนเป็น Passive Sentence โดยใช้รูป – Let + object + be + past participle (V3)

9. By next year that road will have been being built for a year.
(Future perfect continuous ต้องใช้ passive voice ในรูป will + have been + being + V3)

10. Were they told by you?
(Past simple ต้องใช้ passive voice ในรูป was/were + V3 และเป็นประโยคคำถามจึงขึ้นต้นประโยคด้วย Were …)
